On May 7, PI Silvia Budday gave an invited lecture in the Symposium “Evolution and cortical expansion of the human brain” at the ISDN 2022, the 24th Biennial Meeting of the International Society for Developmental Neuroscience. The other Symposium speakers were Fumio Matsuzaki, RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research, Kobe, Japan, Zoltan Molnar, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK, and Wieland B. Huttner, Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Dresden, Germany. We learned a lot about the cellular processes during brain development, which we aim to model computationally. Such a close exchange with neuroscientists and medical researchers is essential for us to develop models that indeed have relevance. It was a great experience and showed interesting future applications for our modeling framework.
