On 14th of February, Silvia Budday was a referee at the PhD defence of Dr. Annaclaudia Montanino from the Division of Neuronic Engineering at KTH in Stockholm, Sweden. Congratulations to Annaclaudia for a persuasive performance and a great thesis with the title “Definition of Axonal Injury Tolerances Across Scales – A Computational Multiscale Approach”, which demonstrates the valuable potential of using multi-scale computational models to predict brain damage as a result of traumatic brain injury.

It was also a great opportunity to meet all members of the Neuronics group and learn about the various exciting research activities ranging from helmet design to computational simulations to improve surgical procedures. Many thanks to Prof. Svein Kleiven and his group for the warm welcome!
