The joint 16th International Symposium on Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering and the 4th Conference on Imaging and Visualization in New York City, USA, was a great opportunity to learn about the latest advances, innovations and applications of computer methods and imaging in biomechanics. The objective of the meeting is to highlight new emerging research areas as well as to present innovative technologies in the field.

It was great to meet many researchers from all over the world working in the field of brain biomechanics, but also to reunite with our former postdoc at LTM Ester Comellas and Ellen Kuhl, to discuss future research collaborations. Also many thanks to Ellen for organizing a great reunion with former lab mates and friends Johannes Weickenmeier, Manuel Rausch, Adrian Buganza Tepole, Mona Eskandari, and Emma Lejeune.

Another highlight of the conference was the CMBBE 2019 Cruise Ship Dinner on the Hudson river, which not only provided great networking opportunities but also incredible views of the New York skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
